1991 was a common year starting on Tuesday of the Gregorian calendar in the 20th century. During this year, music producer Ramon Zenker and DJ Oliver Bondzio first met and began working together. They formed Hardfloor, put out their first single “Let Da Bass Go” on Sven Väth’s Eye Q label, began a prolific career of over 40 singles, EPs and albums, and created a whole new future for global techno.
Hardfloor, the German duo who are one of the iconic items of electronic music alongside biggies like Richie Hawtin or Josh Wink, are one mesmerizing duo. Rarely any other electronic musicians have been able to preserve, explore and develop such a distinctly unique sound, as has Hardfloor.
Their skills are constantly in demand by other artists who want their music to have that Hardfloor edge – Oliver and Ramon have remixed almost everyone from Depeche Mode to New Order, to Anne Clarke and Yello. Their remixing successes ever further prove that their style has a timeless, original, everlasting quality that is appealing across genres.
Hardfloor recently released their 8th full-lenght album called “Two Guys, Three Boxes” on their own label. What has been characteristic of Hardfloor is their will to re-innovate, but still being true to their sounds and origins, strongly presented also in their new album.
